Its a hidden gem! The outside of the hotel doesn't do it justice! Yes the outside is pretty. But the inside tells stories! You walk in and it looks like it did back in the day. But updated! The front desk attendants were super friendly and knowledgeable! Even the staff in the restaurants, gift shops and more. They were all super nice! The staff made it fun! If you go on the train ride. They have a fun 15 min. show before the train ride! The rooms were clean and crisp! They had construction goomg on, on the other side of the hotel when I was there. So it would disturb the guests! When you stay there. Hands down. I highly recommend going on the Grand Canyon train ride and riding in the "observation dome"! Also I hope you get Mia A. as your train attendant as well!! She's super knowledgeable about the train and the town! She's super friendly and likes to put a smile on everyone's face

Every staff person seemed personally invested in ensuring we had an excellent experience. We did a hotel/dining/train package and the enthusiasm across the board was admirable. How can everyone be so "on" every day? Kudos to the entire staff at the Hotel, the Harvey House restaurant, the Train and the great entertainers. We did have an excellent experience and great memories, and recommend the experience to everyone.

If you’re visiting the Grand Canyon, staying at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and taking the train and canyon tour is an experience we’ll never forget. The hotel was fantastic—clean, comfortable, and the perfect place to relax before and after exploring. The staff was friendly and everything felt well organized from the moment we arrived. The train ride to the canyon was one of the highlights of the trip. It felt like stepping back in time, with great entertainment and beautiful views along the way. It made the journey part of the adventure instead of just transportation. Once we arrived, the bus tour around the canyon was incredible. Our guide shared so much interesting history and took us to several breathtaking viewpoints we never would have known to visit on our own. Every stop felt more stunning than the last. Everything about the experience was seamless—from the hotel stay to the train ride to the guided tour. It made visiting the Grand Canyon easy, fun, and truly memorable. Highly recommend doing the full experience if you’re planning a trip!

We did not stay at the grand canyon hotel but from the outside looking in - it looked great. Well kept up grounds and buildings too. We took the train ride up to the Grand Canyon it was fantastic! You got to see the whole way up to the canyon while the train conductor told us about everything we saw. There was a quick staged train robbery where during the ride they deputized several little boys and girls who helped with the apprehension of the robbers. Before we left the station there is a staged gunfight at the ok corral. Just good clean fun. This train has bathrooms, food and drinks and Yes alcohol drinks too. There is an upper part of the train called the observation deck for a little more money. I did not . Totally satisfied watching the scenery go by. And even a young man in striped overalls and a straw hat serenaded us on his old Mandolins. This is a fantastic trip for you and your family. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed here and took the train to the Grand Canyon. Our pkg included an overnight stay before and after our trip to the canyon, train ride, Wild West production, meals at Fred Harvey Restaurant, overnight at Maswik at the Canyon and spendable coupons at the gift shop. The trip is excellent! Organization and service is top notch. Hotel has a lot of amenities! Rooms were comfortable but not as highend as I was expecting. Overall a recommendable trip and stay.

The hotel is conveniently located and makes it so easy you take the train to the Grand Canyon. Local restaurants are easily accessible. The rooms were clean, beds were VERY comfortable, great pool/hot tub and great food at the hotel restaurant (Spencer's Pub). No TV’s in pub to watch sports. No smart TVs, HDMI ports or USB C ports for phones. The gift /coffee shop had small pastries and snacks. The larger restaurant had a great breakfast buffet, a little pricey but food was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again!!

My stay at Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, overall, was a really solid experience. The train ride was honestly the highlight. I had never been on a real train before, so that alone made it memorable. It’s not just transportation — it feels like you’re stepping into a different era. The ride was smooth, well organized, and the whole experience added something special instead of just being a way to get from point A to point B. I also hadn’t been to the Grand Canyon in about 20 years, and seeing it again reminds you how unreal it actually is. It’s massive, raw, and straight-up powerful. Not sentimental — just nature showing off. The scale of it is wild, and it still hits just as hard decades later. As for the hotel, it was better than I expected. It’s not luxury-resort flashy, but it’s very well kept, clean, and thoughtfully decorated. The Western and railroad-themed details throughout the property give it character and make it feel connected to the whole train experience. The lobby and common areas are nicely designed and welcoming. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the beds were great after a long day exploring. It is very quiet — almost surprisingly quiet — which actually adds to the relaxed, getaway feel. Not creepy at all, just peaceful and calm. Overall, the train experience makes it more than just a trip — it feels like an event. The hotel complements it well. If you go in expecting a charming, well-maintained historic-style stay rather than over-the-top luxury, you’ll walk away happy.
